Asia Cup 2022: Virat Kohli discusses his bad form ahead of India’s match against Pakistan.

On Sunday, India will face arch-rival Pakistan in the opening match of the Asia Cup 2022 (28 August). The two sides will meet for the first time since the Men in Blue were humiliated by Pakistan in a 10-wicket loss in October 2021, their first loss to their neighbours in any World Cup, adding heat to the rivalry when they meet in the Asia Cup.

Notably, Virat Kohli will make his long-awaited return after a month out, having last played an international game in England on July 17. He was rested for the West Indies and Zimbabwe series.

Kohli’s recent form has been the talk of the town, as the great Indian hitter has been struggling.

The tournament kicks off on August 27 with a match between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan.

What Virat Kohli has to say about Asia Cup 2022:

“I am a person that wakes up every day and thinks, okay, let’s see what the day has in store for me and be a part of everything throughout the day with complete presence, involvement, and happiness.” That’s always been my personality. People frequently ask me, “How do you do this?” How do you keep going with such zeal? “I just tell them that I love playing the game and that I have so much to contribute for every ball and that I would give every bit of my energy on the field and it never felt odd for me,” Kohli was quoted as saying on BCCI.tv.

The Indian cricket team’s Instagram post consisted of ten images. The first image shows Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul, who are expected to bat first. Virat Kohli was in the third photo and is expected to return to the top spot. Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, and Rishabh Pant’s photos follow Virat’s.

On Wednesday, Team India held its first training session since arriving in the United Arab Emirates for the Asia Cup 2022. Kohli will be the centre of attention. In a gruelling practise, India’s ace hitter broke a sweat in the nets, taking on the bowlers. After missing the previous two limited-overs tours to the West Indies and Zimbabwe, Kohli returns to the Indian team. Kohli, 33, has struggled with the bat in his six international batting appearances since the IPL, failing to score more than 20 runs in any of them.
